Welcome to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Las Vegas is the largest city in Nevada, United States, and a major tourist, shopping, vacation and gambling destination. Las Vegas is the Gambling Capital of the World. What more can be said about the real city that never sleeps, that treats millions of visitors a year, and can cook a good steak at a good price? Only in Vegas, baby! The city has about 480,000 people and the metropolitan area of about 1.5 million people is growing about as steady as the ever-changing skyline. Las Vegas is located in the southern corner of Nevada and is centered between a winter ski mountain resort and a large lake used mostly for boating, jet skiing and camping. The vast open deserts surrounding the Las Vegas area bring high thrills to any off road lover. Too many casinos to name, too many places to see, too much fun. Las Vegas is a treat for all.
Nowhere else can you find a city that has all the amenities that only a complete resort destination can offer: luxurious hotels, fine dining, wonderful live entertainment and state-of-the art convention facilities. Las Vegas is a spectacular city, incomparable to any other. Everything that you would expect from a world-class metropolis, and more, is right here for your pleasure. Las Vegas is a city that has something for everyone. While you are here, make sure to see all the great attractions the city of Las Vegas has to offer. Recognized all over the world, our famous Strip is where tourists can enjoy a walk in the warm desert evening, or take a stroll downtown and view a dazzling light show that spans an entire street - the Fremont Street Experience. You can also get a glimpse of amazing world famous re-creations like erupting volcanoes, the Eiffel Tower and the Sphinx of Egypt. Las Vegas offers top quality entertainment, attractions, shopping and world-renowned resorts. Las Vegas nightlife will keep you up until dawn and art displays, music and museums take you on a journey from the classic to the contemporary. Downtown Las Vegas offers an energetic display of color with a bit of nostalgia and a glimpse of the future. If you are looking to enjoy the Wild West and our great outdoor recreation, beyond the glamour and glitter of our neon lights, we have plenty to see. There are enchanting panoramas in the Red Rock National Conservation area, Lake Mead National Recreation area and at Mount Charleston. All are only minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Although Las Vegas is the largest gaming city in the world, tourism is centered around the casinos (in the center of town ) leaving the surrounding residential neighborhoods virtually untouched by its presence. Have a great time in our wonderful city!

Las Vegas for visitors: Take A Look At The New Tropicana Hotel and Casino

I can remember when the the large Tiki statues guarded the Tropicana from the Las Vegas strip, I'm sure I have a few pictures of myself standing up against those things. I can remember all the parrots around the property and the voice that welcomed us into the casino from the elevator, "Welcome to the island of Las Vegas, where winners play and players win!" I can remember like it was yesterday, but in fact that was about 15 years ago.
Since then, so much has happened, the Las Vegas strip has been completely overhauled and the strip of old is no longer recognizable. The large resorts have taken over and corporate America hands out coupon books in such a way that you are sure that they have lost the idea of a personal touch.
Las Vegas is changing again and you can see it at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. Never mind that they have remodeled the rooms and they now can compete with most on the strip. They are larger, better views and modern decor.
Check out some pictures of the rooms at the Tropicana if you have a hard time believing it.
Put aside the new look casino that is inviting and welcoming. In fact do not even consider that the pool has retained all that you liked about it and been redone in a way that makes it feel modern without placing you in a concrete encasement with water. That's right, the green grass, the trees and the relaxed layout still exists at the Tropicana. You might consider the food options, since they have been revamped, but I'd rather you think about something else.
Customer service. When Las Vegas changes, usually they toss out everything and then start from scratch. What I saw at the Tropicana is a group of really happy people working for an organization that listened to them, treated them well and in turn they smile more, they ask if you need anything and they are attentive. The Tropicana Hotel and Casino is going through a major transformation, however, they did not forget to keep a little of old Las Vegas, they understand that the people walking through the doors are extremely important.
That is tough to do and they are succeeding at it. You might need to check it out.

Learn Something at Tacos and Tequila at Luxor Las Vegas

Line them up.
Inspect each of the glasses.
Grab a few tortillas, a glass of water and relax.
Can you do that? Can you sit in front of a few shot glasses of premium tequila without succumbing to the urge to shoot'em? Sure you can, eliminate the lemon and salt and only consider the sangrita to help you move from one tequila to another. Take your time, check out the color, allow yourself to enjoy the aroma and then gently taste the tequila, let it sit in your mouth, a quick swish around and then swallow. Have some water, maybe a little warm tortilla and then move on to the next.
Considering that Tacos and Tequila at Luxor Las Vegas has more than 90 different Tequilas on hand you might be here for awhile but you'll have to attempt the entire inventory over the course of time. However, they do have flights of tequila already selected for you in order to help with your education. Here's the idea, you should learn something new every day, why not learn a little more about the precious Blue Agave and the fabulous juice that can be produced from it. Why not enjoy the hard work of a few Jimadores who harvested this gem down south all for you?
Might I suggest an Alambre Taco, a shrimp taco and a Baja taco to go along with your tequila? Since you are already at Tacos and Tequila you might as well have a Casarita, made with 100% Agave Tequila and served on the rocks.
You should also consider happy Hour at Tacos and Tequila as they have drink specials, that's code for $5 dollar shots and beers as well as the Taco and Beer Combo, 6 tacos, and a bucket of beer for $29. Monday through Friday 3 to 5 PM.
If you are a fan of the Sunday Brunch, Tacos and Tequila has the Mariachi Brunch and they offer 2 for 1 Casaritas and a decent Machaca Burrito. No better way to start a Sunday morning than with a little tequila, right?
